How do we keep our insecurities from damaging our relationships? (I speak from experience today)

I’ve got a lot going through my head right now. Probably more then I should. Just trying to sort stuff out, sifting though what needs to be in the table now, and what can stay in the kitchen for now. I have a feeling I’m just working on the salad now though.
The number one thing that is standing out is love, and how we do it. A lot of people say that it is hard to love (I agree) but it’s a lot easier to love to way we want then the way we need to. That’s the hard part, its hardly ever black and white, it take a lot to be able to decipher how some one needs to be loved instead of “how you want to love them”.
You can be the greatest at loving, but miss the point all at the same time. We are called to love as Christ loves us. What does that look like? its probably way more selfless then we can ever imagine. We can observe things, say “i see this, that’s what they need” but mess the point all together. We can get so wrapped up in doing “the right thing” that we miss out in enjoying the little things that lead up to “The Right Thing” happening in the Masters timing.
Love is patient, love is kind. When we tinker with doing things “our way” it usually ends up turning into a shitstorm. When we wait on the Lord, become patient and gain wisdom in His ways we can learn to step back, smell the roses, and find out they are plastic. Once we see whats wrong with beautiful roses that aren’t real we can start letting Him replace them with the real deal.
I’m learning to release how important it is to listen before I speak. To sit with The Lord in silence and search Him out for how to Love. How to love without an agenda, how to love without envy, how to love with patience.
I’ve got some stuff to learn. Good thing the Author is at my side to learn from. We need to learn how to not go down with the ship, cause truth is, we aren’t the Captain. I’ve got to learn to let go of the wheel all the time and remember the times He was in control and how much smoother they went.
I know, a little ranting, but that’s about all that’s going through my head right now. So i figured I could let some out. Trials build character. Time to get out the chop saw….
If you won’t tell anyone, I’ll do Pinterest projects with you!
I’m not rich or educated or even that handsome…but no one in this world will love you or treat you as well as I will. I promise, babe.
